Departure from Hotel at 09:00. We will have a full day Istanbul city tour today. Istanbul, once known as an important capital has many unique features. It is the only city in the world to straddle two continents, and the only one to have been a capital during two consecutive empires - Byzantine and Ottoman. The city still remains the commercial, historical and cultural pulse of Turkey, and its beauty lies in its ability to embrace its contradictions. Ancient and modern, religious and secular, Asia and Europe, mystical and earthly all co-exist here. After having breakfast we will start the tour of the “Old City”. This is the centre from where the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires were ruled. First visit of the Hippodrome, centre of sportive (chariot races, athletics) events and political activities of the old city. Subsequently visit of the Basilica of St. Sophia and Topkapi Palace with treasury section and harem. Hereafter visit of the Blue Mosque, the latter one is famous with its blue Iznik tiles and unique with 6 minarets and is built for Sultan Ahmet. Afterwards we will visit Egyptian Bazaar (Spice Bazaar) where mystical smells of different aromas of various spices spreads. After lunch at a traditional Ottoman cuisine restaurant, we will have a private boat trip on Bosphorus by Ottoman Sultan’s Boat, through the waterway separating the two continents Asia and Europe for nearly 1 – 1,5 hours. After a day like a dream, dinner at a first class restaurant which has a marvellous Bospharus view and overnight in Istanbul. |

Transfer from hotel to airport for flight to Izmir with Turkish Airlines TK 320. Arrival time 12:00 Today we will have a visit to Efesus. During our walk through the site we will see beautiful ancient tempels, agora’s, marble streets, the Celsus library, anphi-theaters etc. in good shape. Only little imagination is needed to go some centuries back and feel daily life in the Roman or Greek period. For lunch we will go to a local restaurant in Selcuk. We will also visit St. Mary House and St. John Church during the day. Dinner and accomodation in Kusadasi. |

Departure from hotel at 09:00 and drive to Fethiye via Bodrum. We will visit Bodrum castle which was built by St. Jean Knights on a rocky ground peninsula next to the harbour. The castle has an English, French, German and Italian tower named after the countries of the knights who built these towers. The next stop will be Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology in Bodrum Castle of The Knights of St. John. This is not just a dusty collection of lifeless relics; it is an original, creative and exiting experience. It is a trip into a fascinating past through to life in exhibits that take you back in time into the worlds of ancient mariners who sailed to meet their destiny shipwrecked on Anatolian shores or to the medieval.
Age of Knights who built this castle from stones that once were part of one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient World: The Mausoleum of Halicarnasus. Lunch at a restaurant in Bodrum where we will taste local cuisine. After lunch we will continue to drive to Fethiye. One is at a loss for words to describe the beauty of Fethiye. Departure from hotel at 09:00 and drive to Antalya. Because of the archaeological and natural riches of the area, Antalya is also known as the Turkish Riviera. The sun, sea, nature and history combine to form a very popular resort, highlighted by some of the cleanest beaches in Mediterranean. 630 km shoreline of the province is liberally scattered with ancient cities, harbours, memorial tombs and beaches, secluded coves and lush forests, many of which are easily accessible from the city. After lunch in Antalya at a local restaurant at the marina, we will visit archaeology museum. There are mosaics, the Gallery of the Gods, Phrygian ornaments, and a room with Christian art that includes pieces of the skull and jawbone of St Nicholas, the original Santa Claus. The ethnography section has a collection of Iznik ceramics, household implements and weapons. Afterwards drive to Belek. Dinner and overnight in Belek. |

Departure from hotel at 09:00 and drive to Konya the city of the whirling derwishes. A holy city of Konya is the home of RUMI. The city was used to be one of the most important trading centres on the Silk Road. We will have a visit of Sultanhani Caravanserai. The latter one was built as an accommodation place for tradesman and at the same time it had the function of a castle in times of hostility. Afterwards we will visit Mevlana museum, which has been given as a present by the Seljuk sultans to the derwishes.The most famous place here is old convent of the whirling derwishes, which is now converted into a museum. Departure from Konya to Cappadoccia. Cappadoccia is a wonderful region formed by volcano eruptions centuries ago. Erosions by wind, rain and snow caused many interesting shapes, which gives the impression that we are in the scene of a science fiction movie. Starting from the third century BC, Cappadoccia also became a religious centre for Christianity. We will visit Goreme open-air museum with its many carved churches. Afterwards we will discover the region with different valleys, each with breathtaking landscapes such as Uchisar. Today we will also see Derinkuyu underground city. The settlement is approximately 85m deep. Lunch at a local restaurant in Cappadoccia. Dinner and overnight in Cappadoccia. |
DAY 9 : KAYSERI - ISTANBUL

Departure from hotel at 07:00 and drive to Kayseri for flight to Istanbul by Turkish Airlines TK261. Arrival time to Istanbul is 12:15. First we will have lunch at a very famous kebab restaurant. Afterwards we will visit Basilica cistern.

Departure from hotel at 10:00. Today we will have a full day Istanbul tour starting with Grand Bazaar with more than 4000 shops as well as being the market of old city. Then we will visit Suleymaniye mosque which is considered to be the most beautiful of the imperial mosques in Istanbul. It includes 6 madrasas, a poor house-tabhane, an imaret-soup kitchens, a caravanserai, mental hospital, baths, a school and shops, as well as the mausoleums of Süleyman I and Sultana Hürrem. The next stop will be Dolmabahce Palace which is located on Bosphorus line. We will also pay a visit to the Grand Bazaar, there with more than 4000 shops as well as being the market of old city. Transfer to airport for flight back to home country. |
