DAY 1 : WELCOME to ISTANBUL
|
|
Today is an arrival day. Our staff will meet you at Istanbul International Airport, and transfer you to the Old City, where you will meet the rest of the crew you will be spending the next 10 days with |
DAY 2 : ISTANBUL to PAMUKKALE (B)
|
|
We hit the road today for the calcium pools of Pamukkale (Cotton Castles) where we will rest for the night, whilst overlooking the surreal cliffs of this natural wonder. |
DAY 3 : PAMUKKALE / HIEROPOLIS to SELCUK (B)
|
|
An early start this morning for a guided tour of Pamukkale and the Hieropolis ruins. Today we will learn why this placed is named the Cotton Castles, and there is an opportunity to have a dip in ’The Sacred Pool’, where the likes of Cleopatra and Alexander the Great once bathed. This afternoon we head west for the small farming village of Selcuk for our night stop. |
DAY 4 : SELCUK to PERGAMUM (B)

One of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World awaits us today in the Temple of Artemis, at the ruins of Ephesus. This set of ruins is truly one of the greatest and best preserved. After our fully-guided tour of this remarkable place, we head further north to the quiet town of Bergama. |
DAY 5 : BERGAMA to TROY to GALLIPOLI (B)

Another early start this morning for a tour of the Ruins of Pergamum, home of the steepest amphitheatre in the world and also where modern medicine began, before we head closer to the Gallipoli Peninsula for a tour of the Ruined cities of Troy. Tonight we stay on the Gallipoli Peninsula and catch our first glimpse of the infamous Dardenelles. |
DAY 6 : ANZAC DAY at GALLIPOLI (B,L)

Today is the reason we came to Turkey. We awake in the early hours of the morning to make the big trek up to the World War 1 Battlefields for the inaugural Dawn Service. This site has a very serene, but eerie feel about it these days, and today we remember the numerous lives that were pointlessly lost, and commemorate one of the best ANZAC Days of our lives. After the Dawn Service, we pay our respects at the international service for Anzac memorial services. A very emotional day for one and all. |

After our ANZAC Day experience at Gallipoli, we can not leave without doing a fully-guided tour of the peninsula. Our guide will take us to ANZAC Cove, Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair memorials, The Nek and reveal stories of battle woes and heroes. |
DAY 8 : GALLIPOLI to ISTANBUL (B)

We head back to the big smoke today, so just sit back and relax and absorb what we have just witnessed at Gallipoli. Tonight we re-unite ourselves with our hotel of night 1, and rest our weary bones. |
DAY 9 : ISTANBUL CITY TOUR (B)
|
|
A fully-guided tour of one of the worlds oldest cities, including The Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia, Hippodrome, Topkapi Palace, Underground Cistern, and if we have time, we can partake in a bit of bargaining at the Grand Bazaar. |
DAY 10 : ISTANBUL to HOME (B)

Our tour finishes after breakfast, and your transfer back to the airport awaits. |
